Organic Marseille BASIL Infusion
The most fragrant of the classic Basil varieties, with a hint of lemon, is perfect on tomato salads or in a "pistou" soup.
This particular variety is a perennial crop grown as an annual crop in the Provençal region. It has medium sized leaves and small cream-coloured flowers bunched together in long spikes.
Its antibacterial leaves are traditionally used to stimulate digestion, calm stomach cramps and treat pulmonary, pharyngeal and rheumatic conditions. Basil leaves contain essential oil, tannins, antioxidants, vitamins C, K, beta-carotene, iron, calcium and magnesium

Literally, Royal Herb, Pistou Basil.
The most fragrant of Basils, with lemony undertones.
Pistou basil is a small, compact plant, reaching 30 centimetres in diameter, and produces mid-sized, ovate leaves with a uniform appearance.

Preparation
For infusion add 6 g (1 heaped teaspoon) for 25-30 cl (1 cup)of water. Grind lightly and steep for 10 min. Drink 1 cup per day. For decoction: boil 20 g (2 tablespoons) in 50 cl of water for 20 minutes, filter and allow to cool. Use to gargle or as a mouthwash 2 or 3 times a day.
Properties and beneficial combinations
- to stimulate digestion and intestinal transit: blend 2 g with Peppermint (3 finger pinch) per cup.
- in the kitchen: combine with parmesan and crushed pine nuts in olive oil for pasta, fish and soups. Blend with dried Oregano, Dill, Savory, Pepper and Marigold flowers to prepare the Georgian classic Khmeli-Suneli, a reaol treat with grilled meats...
Do not use as a treatment during pregnancy or lactation.
Not recommended in children under 6 years old.
Avoid combining with anticoagulant treatments.
Safe in moderate doses for cooking.
