Eau de Toilette - Cold-glazed SWEET VIOLET
Description
A refined delicacy.
A soft and powdery fragrance conveying warmth and delicacy. A scent that is both gourmet and characteristic.
A little history ?
In ancient times, after long and trying festivities and n order to alleviate their headaches, the Greeks would place a purple crown of violets around their head. This practice was later scientifically-validated: violets contain a significant amount of acetyl salicylic acid, in other words... aspirin!
Mythology has it that Venus could not bring herself to love Vulcan, her ugly husband. Wanting to conquer his wife, he one day wore a crown of violets that were so fragrant that Venus was overwhelmed agreed to become his wife.
Henri IV, Louis XIII and their descendants perfumed and powdered themselves with violet to cover their body odours. These violets grew naturally in the Versailles vegetable garden and were present on the tables of the palace. La Quintinye noted that he raised pink, white and blue varieties or the glory of the great King, Louis XIV.
Sweet Violet flowers have the peculiarity of lulling the olfactory receptors, so that paradoxically if one approaches them to smell them...they quickly become unable to!
Cold-glazing is a traditional manufacturing process where very low temperatures make it possible to impregnate scents on fine alcohol.
