Description
Illicium verum, Schisandraceae family of flowering plants
Star Anise is the fruit of an asian shrub reminiscent of Magnolia. It is picked when still green and turns brown when dried in the sun. The anethole it contains gives it a pleasant aniseed scent. Star Star Anise is traditionally used to facilitate digestion, avoid bloating and promote breastfeeding. V

Preparation
1 star per cup, brew for 10 min. One cup after each meal at any time of the day.
Properties and beneficial combinations
- breastfeeding mothers: add 5 g (one tablespoon) of nettle leaves to a star Anise infusion. Drink 3 or 4 cups a day.
- aids digestion: infuse for 10 min with 5 chamomile flowers. Drink after meals or in cases of intestinal spasms.
Star Anise is a stimulant at high doses.
